How Good Credit Rating Can Secure Your Financing Chances

A good credit rating is invaluable when trying to get a loan for a home, car or personal use. Without it you may have trouble getting a reasonable interest rate and end up paying more through the life of the loan or bad credit may prevent you from getting a loan at all.

Before you start home shopping, get a copy of your credit report and score. It’s vital to know where you stand before you find your dream home. That way, if your score is less than ideal you can take steps to improve it before applying for a loan.

Fortunately, if you credit rating isn’t stellar there are ways you can improve it. Probably the easiest way to boost your credit rating is to pay off any credit cards that are carrying a balance. Also, stay up to date with all of your loans.

Take action to better your credit for about six months before applying for a financing. It takes at least this long to show improvements to your credit score and for your positive actions to take effect.

Increasing your credit score is your goal because it will directly impact the rate you receive on a mortgage. Achieving the lowest possible interest rate is vital to get you a low monthly payment and to save money over time.

If your credit rating is low enough a lender may deny your loan application completely. Or you may be given a loan but it may require an extremely large down payment and provide you with a very high interest rate.

Should you miss payments and default on your loan it will cause severe damage to your credit rating. So, before you take steps to acquire a loan, you should evaluate whether you have the means to pay off the loan.

After you’ve received a mortgage take it very seriously. Make all of your payments on time so that your credit rating continues to improve. Late penalties will cost you money and points on your credit score.

Are You Living In Integrity With Your Goals?

So… you have set the goal and started the process of achieving what you want. You work towards the goal, think about the goal and are really excited. Then something happens. You loose steam, you get busy and the excitement that you had while you were working towards your goal fades and another project gets stuck back up on the shelf. Waiting for completion and just outside of your grasp.

These projects and goals that you shove to the side have an impact on your mind. They are promises that you made to yourself that you have broken. Inside there is an overdrawn debit account for every project that you did not complete. The internal stress from this debit account wears on you if you cannot put it back into alignment.

Getting Back Into Integrity

One of the ways that you start to live in integrity with your goals is to figure out what you really want in life. Many times you start a goal and never finish it because its something that you dont really want. Maybe some of the goals you have been setting have been for other people and not you. You will never make real progress until you have clearly defined goals that you actually want. Think about each of the projects that you have tabled or not completed and evaluate whether you want that for yourself or whether you were just going through the motions for another person.

Once you have that done list out the five main areas of your life: wealth, health, family relationships, love relationships and your form of spirituality. Write down what you want in each area of your life and be specific.

Do A Daily Check-Up

Each morning when you wake-up read your goals. Plan out what you will do each day based on the five categories of your life. Make sure that you devote at least five minutes every day to each of the five areas. At the end of the day go back over your list and ask yourself if you lived true to your goals during the day.

Living in integrity with your goals means that you take steps each day to move towards them. You align yourself in terms of your habits and your thoughts so that you are helping move yourself closer to your goals. If you merely sit around and dream without taking action you are out of integrity.

Do You Leave Everyone You Meet With An Impression of Increase?

Leaving people with an impression of increase means that when you finish an interaction with another person, that person feels like you have contributed positively to their life. This concept is so simple and elementary yet many of us fail to do it.

To truly live this way you need to apply it in every aspect of your life: from the person who cuts you off in traffic to the people you kiss goodnight. Frankly in the hustle and bustle of everyday life this isn’t easy. Its much simpler to react and say something unkind than to pause and think about how you can help or improve the other person’s life for the better.

But when we stop, pause and think about how our interactions will affect another person, we can truly put this principle into action in our lives. This simple thought process can cause a dramatic change in your life and in your everyday dealings with others.

The most important time to apply this is when you are in a difficult situation or a highly emotional one. This is also the time when it will be the hardest to think about how to improve that other person’s life. Sometimes the smallest actions like smiling or simply saying thank you will improve a situation for the better.

We all know people who make us feel warm and happy to see them. They seem to naturally exude a spirit which draws people to them and makes others feel at ease. That easy interaction comes from the same thought process as leaving others with an impression of increase. With these individuals however, this is the way they live and they do not have to consciously think about their actions, it is ingrained in their being.

When we apply this principle to our business lives it makes a world of difference. We have all gone into a store and had a salesperson be rude to us and then vowed to never go back to that store again. Our decision was based solely on the actions of one individual. Not on the quality of merchandise, or how much we liked the store, just on that one person.

Conversely we have been in stores where we are treated like royalty and they capture our repeat business over and over again. The actions of a few people determine the nature of our thoughts about whether we will continue to do business with that entity or not.

By training your employees or yourself to make sure that each person you do business with feels like you have contributed positively to their life you will increase your business exponentially. Your customers and co-workers will become walking billboards on your behalf.

I encourage you to read the chapter on “An Impression of Increase” from Wallace Wattles book “The Science of Getting Rich.
