An Increase In Your Memory Can Increase Your Happiness In Life

Do you find that your memory fails you again and again? Would you like to understand how you can boost your memory? You will once you read and apply the ideas in this article. Your memory quite possibly is your most important intellectual factor. What are you doing to strengthen your memory on a regular basis?

The Importance Of Your Memory

Can you imagine your life with a nonexistent memory? How frustrating would be to not be able to recall simple facts that were just told to you or facts you once knew from a long time ago? Some individuals face disease which puts them in this exact state. Others, seemingly very healthy never exercise their memory and as the old expression goes whatever is not used is lost.

What Is Your Memory Like?

Do you find that you meet people at parties or at work and moments later forget their name? Do you believe that you can remember faces but always forget names? The human mind is trained to remember people, places and things that we get emotionally involved in. If you don’t believe me I want you to think back and remember your first true love. This person might have been in your life many years ago but you still remember this person don’t you? What did you have for lunch a week ago last Monday? See the difference an emotional connection makes versus something that is trivial?

How Can I Improve My Memory?

From the above example we concluded that the more emotionalized things are in your mind the more likely it will be that you will remember them. This is why when trying to memorize very dry information in school we found it challenging, there was no emotion involved. The easiest way to boost your memory is to associate what you are trying to remember with an emotional trigger.

What Is An Emotional Trigger?

An emotional trigger is a psychological tool that is used to help you remember something. Let me give you an example of an emotional trigger: recently I attended a workshop and met a lady by the name of Diva. So the question is how did I remember her name? I associated her name with the traditional meaning of the word diva and created a funny yet memorable picture in my mind of what the word diva represents. I then associated this funny picture with this nice lady. Every time I try to remember her name if I struggled the picture would come on the screen of my mind and just like magic I would remember her name.

What As Something That You Struggle To Remember?

I want you to take something that you struggle to remember perhaps the name of someone or a phone number. Now associate in name of this person with something that you find very funny and memorable. Use one of their attributes and use this as a tool to spur your imagination.

Are You Remembering Phone Numbers?

Do you realize that if I asked you to recall some of the phone numbers you have personally had over the years you could? Why is it that we have trouble remembering other numbers when they are given to us? The answer is we have not emotionalized these numbers and we rarely use them. So now the trick is how can we associate something with a stream of numbers? Let’s take a random number 369-1496. To me 1496 is the year Columbus discovered America so this part of the number is easy to recall. Now the question is how do we remember 369? One way to remember this is multiples of three another way to remember this is to take the last two digits of 1496 and invert them to 69 and all I have to remember that in his 3. So my emotional trigger is Christopher Columbus came to America in 1496. The last two digits are 6 and 9 and I remember they are multiples of 3 hence 369-1496. This might not be the ideal example but I am sure you get the point.

Your memory is vitally important to your success. It is your duty to exercise your memory on a regular basis to ensure that you can maximize all information that is retained within your subconscious mind. By working on improving your memory you will strengthen it and improve your ability to recall details and facts. Memory truly is a use it or lose it skill.

The Power of Using Your Intuition To Attain Success In Life

Your intuition or your sixth sense is vitally important to your future success. Let us first define intuition. Intuition refers to the ability to sense or know immediately without reasoning.” A good question that is often asked is how does a person improve their intuition? To answer this question I will need your help. I want you to think of someone in your life who you consider to be highly intuitive. Most people who are highly intuitive have the capacity to observe details about their surroundings and details about who they are. Let’s call this hyper awareness.

When you talk to someone who is highly intuitive they tend to do more listening than talking. They observe everything you say and how you say it and more importantly what you did not say. By doing this and observing the environment in which the communication took place, they are able to read between the lines and sense more about you than you ever thought possible.

Intuition can also be applied to all aspects of life beyond communicating with others. Have you ever noticed that when you have a pressing challenge that occupies your mind for some time that somehow almost through thin air the right answer comes to you? Often we call this a hunch or inspiration. What do you do when you experience a hunch or inspiration? Do you follow through and investigate it or do you let it fall through your fingers like it never existed? Have you ever experienced getting the same hunch over and over again separated by long periods of time? When inspiration or a hunch comes to us, particularly repeatedly, this is a signal that we need to pay attention to.

Where do these hunches come from? To answer this question I’ll need to involve a little bit of quantum physics. Don’t worry we will not go into too many esoteric details here.

Do you realize that you and everything around us is made up of energy, space and matter? If you look at inanimate objects under a microscope you will see that they are made up of molecules, and every molecule is made up of atoms, and every atom is made up of electrons, neutrons, and protons. Each has a positive or negative electrical charge and a whole lot of space. If you continue looking under the microscope you will see that these atoms are vibrating at a high speed of vibration.

If you do not believe me let us consider an ice cube. If we add energy in the form of heat to an ice cube we’ll get water. If we continue to add more heat energy to the water we will get steam. What has really changed here? At a molecular level nothing has changed, however, the ice has disappeared and has become steam in our atmosphere. What changed was the rate of vibration of the water atoms contained in the ice. Now that we understand this critical principle, I think you will agree with me that everything around us represents energy. If not, well, youll need to review your science textbooks.

If everything around us represents energy then the thoughts we have also represent energy. Correspondingly, since energy cannot be created or destroyed and it can only change its form based on the laws of thermodynamics then it is quite possible that we can pick up the energy of others and we can transmit energy to others. This has often been called telepathy. A short example is to think about people you know and have met that you got a bad vibe from. Nothing may have been said but you just knew that, that person was trouble.

If we acknowledge that it is possible to receive energy from others we must also entertain the idea that it is possible to receive energy from a source outside of human thought. Energy flows to and through us. In very much the same way that an acorn can grow into a large oak tree, you and I can take the energy that flows to and through us to take ideas in our conscious and subconscious minds and convert thought energy into its physical equivalent. The process of recognizing the energy that flows to and through us is what our intuition is all about.

If you want to become more intuitive you have to become hyperaware of who you interact with and your surroundings. You have to get in tune with reading vibrations so that you can act on your gut feelings and hunches. Your success depends on grabbing those ideas and little flashes of intuition and putting them into action in your life.

Applying The Golden Rule In Business And Your Career

Remember the Golden Rule? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. By applying this concept in your business or career you will rocket yourself to success and set yourself apart from the competition.

How To Live The Golden Rule In Business

Sometimes its hard to hold yourself to the Golden Rule standard. Things annoy us, customers can be unreasonable and co-workers can be, well co-workers. It takes a great deal of mental effort to be unemotional about a situation that is not to our liking and consciously hold ourselves to a higher standard. No matter what is going on around us we can always treat the people we deal with in business with respect and understanding.

The customer that yells at you might have a sick relative in the hospital, the co-worker that is curt with you might be going through a divorce, venders that do not get back to you might be exceptionally busy. There are countless reasons that situations arise in the workplace where we feel that someone has slighted us or just not given us the respect we think we deserve.

Regardless of how we are treated, we can always respond to others differently. When someone is yelling, we can talk in a calm manner. When someone is being petty we can take the higher road and not become emotionally involved with the situation. It might be difficult to do at times but by taking a breath before you respond to a situation your results will be better.

Act As If You Are On The Other Side Of the Transaction

You should always put yourself on the other side of a transaction. Think about what would I want if I was in this persons shoes? This goes for customers and all the people you come into contact with at your place of work. This doesnt mean that you need to let people walk all over you. Your concern is that you are being reasonable, respectful and that your customer or co-worker comes away from the interaction satisfied that they were dealt with fairly.

By always thinking about what you would want if you were on the other side of the table, your meetings will go more smoothly and you will be much more effective. If you are a salesman you will sell more because you are thinking of your customers needs and wants instead of your own. Review all your actions and think to yourself is this how I would want to be treated? Try to structure each transaction so that it is a win-win for all involved.

Using The Golden Rule With Competitors

Often overlooked is the relationship that you have with your competitors. Have you ever talked to a salesman that is bashing a competitors product? Does it give you a negative feeling? Bashing others products or work will never help your business. Your focus should always be on the benefits that you can offer your customer. Applying the Golden Rule with your competitors is a necessary aspect of your thinking. Sometimes you might not have the right solution for a customer and your competitor does. If the tables were turned you would want your competitor to refer that customer to you. Making referrals will ultimately help you build trust with your customer and with competitors.

People think that the marketplace is limited and that they have to fight their way to the top in their careers and business. Your success is solely due to the quality of your work or products. The simple answer to competition is to make your product the best it can be. Constantly think to yourself how can I improve this? Real champions of business know the only person they need to compete with is themselves.
